Sampling kit is suitable for the analysis of Diesel, Kerosene, Marine Gas Oil, & HVO fuel types.
This sampling kit does not support analysis for Petrol/ Gasoline/ BS EN 228. Please contact the laboratory for details and information.
Included in the cost we will perform a “Standard Suite” of tests as defined below.
We will determine if the sample provided is within specification with the believed fuel type for the tests performed.
Results to be presented as a .pdf report to the clients email address as noted on the sampling ticket.

A Fuel Sampling kit contains:
- 1 x OCLS Marked Bottle, Approx. 60ml
- 1 x OCLS Sample Ticket for Details of the sample
- 1 x 60cm flexible tubing for sample extraction
- 1 x Bottle Label
- 1 x Plastic Bag for Sample Bottle
- 1 x Jiffy Bag for postage
- 1 x Prepaid postage return label (for use with the Jiffy Bag ONLY)
Upon return of the sample to the Laboratory, the included analysis per the "Standard Suite" is as follows:
- Observations (Appearance, Contamination, Condition)
- Ferrous Wear Index
- Density at 15°C
- Flash Point: Closed Cup at Fuel Specification Temperature
- Cleanliness Check/Particle Counting by ISO 4406
- Biodiesel/FAME Testing via FTIR
- Water Content by Karl Fischer Testing
- Bacteria & Mould Growth Testing (where applicable)
We also offer a vast array of other tests than listed above. If you require additional tests to be performed (Sulphur content, Cetane Index, etc), have an enquiry about the tests noted above, or something more bespoke enquiry about your sample, please contact the Laboratory.
Additional testing is not included in the typically expected 2-6 day turnaround and may take longer to complete and can be subject to additional costs.
* Access to our online reporting service "OilSpy" may be provided for repeat customers, though prior discussion with the laboratory is required to set this up.
